Portal fail 3

Ok yet another story to this. I made a new World and decided to explore the Nether world a bit. I gave myself some Obsidian blocks since i am to lazy to get my own. After roaming the nether i built a portal back home behind a Lavafall. When i appeared home it was dark so i placed torches at my feet. I steped forward unaware of where i was. I suddenly fell about 10 blocks down into an ocean thankfully. i looked back up into the dark night to see the portal hovering in air with nothing supporting it. How it managed to spawn in the air i do not know but for now its a one way portal in my case. lol
